Chancellor’s Graduate and Professional Student Advisory Board
Nkechinyere Chidi-Ogbolu, Ph.D. Candidate in BMEGG, recently completed her term as a member of the Chancellor’s Graduate & Professional Student Advisory Board. Nkechi shares, “The board as a whole forms subcommittees to tackle different issues faced by graduate students on campus. Those issue then get related back to the Chancellor and with our suggested solutions. We get feedback from the Chancellor on the most feasible options and then start to work on implementation. Last year, I served on the graduate group resources committee which was formed out of recognition of the unique system of graduate groups. The subcommittee are usually formed based on feedback from the student body so we had received feedback that some people were a little lost in the sauce. Last year was mostly just data gathering and figuring out where the whole in the system are. Going forward the committee will be trying to figure out the best way to plug those holes. I won’t be serving this year as I am working towards my dissertation and also participating in the Keller Pathway Fellows program but I definitely recommend the CGPSA to graduate students who want be of service and get a direct line to the people who can make the changes. ”
Students interested in serving on the CGPSA may submit applications through October 16, 2020.
