Biomaterials and Devices

Biomaterials researchers use tools from the physical sciences to observe, measure and manipulate biological systems. Research is concerned with the development of novel materials for purposes ranging from supporting cell growth to delivering vaccines. Our faculty create devices from the nano- and micro-scale to the macroscale for applications that include delivering or sensing biomolecules, recording signals from the brain, and measuring cellular forces.
