BMEGG Student Research Symposium 2022

The 11th annual BMEGG Student Research Symposium was held on Friday, May 13th.  Dr. Katherine Ferrara, Professor of Radiology and the Division Chief for the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford University, provided the keynote address titled "Career experiences of an Industrial Project Engineer, Biomedical Engineering Department Chair and Department of Radiology Division Chief". Current graduate students delivered 8 podium presentations, 23 poster presentations, and 3 science communication videos (a new category). We hosted a panel session with distinguished UC Davis educators on Heath Equity. There was lively discussion among the students and faculty during the virtual poster session. We congratulate all students for an excellent job on their high-quality presentations. The following students received special recognition for their presentations:

        • Best Oral Presentation: $ 1000 – Bobby Gresham
        • 2nd Place Oral Presentation: $500 – Hanna Koster
        • Best Poster Presentation: $500 – Brent Weyers
        • Best SciCom Video: $500 – Hannah O’Toole

Kudos to our Symposium Chairs, Sophie Orr and Ben Mattison, on a successful return to an in-person event.
