Anita Rajamani receives Keller Pathway Fellowship

Anita Rajamani, a Ph.D. candidate with a focus on nutrition and cardiovascular diseases, is a recipient of the 2017-2018 Keller Pathway Fellowship. This year-long fellowship program provides women, cross-disciplinary researchers and other underrepresented university-based entrepreneurs a foundation for developing their business ideas.  Anita hopes to understand the differences in biochemical composition of circulating lipoproteins in response to diet as a function of an individual’s likelihood to develop atherosclerosis. In addition to research, Anita enjoys teaching and mentoring. She has guided design groups through concept generation, product development and design validation. Prior to graduate school, she obtained her B.S. in biomedical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology with an emphasis in entrepreneurship. Anita is committed to advancing STEM, and has organized numerous community service events as an outreach chair. She was raised in Dubai with strong Indian roots, and she enjoys learning about all cultures and exploring the world. Anita’s favorite part about the UC Davis BME Grad Group is the supportive and collaborative nature of the program. She loves the strong bond among students and faculty, and its commitment to make a difference through translational science.
