Position Title
Associate Professor

  • Electrical & Computer Engineering
3127 Kemper
Bio
Biophotonics, optoelectronics, optical imaging, neurotechnology

Dr. Yang develops advanced optical methods and neurotechnologies to interrogate and modulate brain activity, with a goal to understand how neural circuits organize and function, how behaviors and perceptions emerge from cellular activity, and ultimately how the brain works. In addition, the Yang group develops implantable optoelectronic devices for biomedical applications. The research work is highly interdisciplinary, advancing knowledge in biophotonics, integrated optoelectronics, nanotechnologies, statistics as well as neuroscience and neuroengineering.
