Professor Tagkopoulos leads the Integrated Biology and Predictive Analytics lab, where computer scientists and biologists apply interdisciplinary techniques to solve challenges in life sciences. His team works on the theory and design of novel machine learning algorithms, multi-scale models, transfer and active learning frameworks on nutritional, medical and biological data. Computational results are experimentally validated in our microbiology lab, located in the Genome Center.

Prior to joining UC Davis, he was with Princeton’s Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics and in Credit Suisse’s LOCuS fixed-income derivatives group.
